Thundercats are Go!

I've been wanting to see this movie for awhile now, but since A doesn't really enjoy movies, when we do rent them I usually let him pick them out. But, this Friday I went to the movie store on my own while he slept, and picked up two movies. I am so happy I finally got to see Juno. It is excellent, and I recommend it to everyone, if you haven't seen it you must - it is really good. It's witty throughout! and you'll try to remember the lines, so you can use them in your everyday. It's so good I may just watch it again before I return it! :)
I'd heard from so many people that it's good, and a male friend even told us how funny it was, which I hadn't heard before - and that convinced me even more to watch it since a guy recommended it. ;) And it's a movie you can watch no matter the mood you are in - it would be good anytime.
Knowing that Ellen Page is from Halifax, Nova Scotia - so close to home, makes me so much happier for her, and proud of her accomplishments. Hollywood is a long ways from the Maritimes and Canadians don't have the same exposure or opportunities for roles in the industry. But how great that she's been able to stick with something she loves and to finally get roles that expose her talent. She is an incredible Actor, and I can't wait to see more from her - she's a natural at the art, and did an amazing job in this role - I hope she's this good in all of her films. I've heard good things about Hard Candy, and I am really looking forward to watching this movie as well.

My Randomness

LOVING purple lately;

Can’t get over how much storyline happened in the last 30 minutes of Grey’s Anatomy – how incredibly awesome was that ending!!

Positive reinforcement goes a long ways;

We are having our first feed of fresh fiddleheads tonight...mm;

I’m actually looking forward to the Detroit and Pittsburgh series…(to A’s shock and surprise) – go Penguins go!!….I hope you take it!

I mean who does not love Sid the Kid ?? :)

Got a cute little top at Walmart last night for $9.99! (and some new sheets);

I gave up all teas – green and white, coffee, beer, juice and pop a month and a half ago because I was having such severe pain in my chest, and a difficulty breathing that I went to outpatients and to the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack, the pain was excruciating and lasted from the end of February till about two weeks ago. It was acid reflux but those were my only symptoms…odd since I’ve never had heartburn in my life. I still have a beer or two on the weekend, but try not to have more than one at a time, and a cup or two of coffee a week. I don’t miss any of them as much as I thought I would, but it was very difficult at first, I LOVED tea – notice wine is not on the list! :)

Why do boys not understand what is wrong with holes in their underwear?

I’m trying to choose bathroom colours, and I suck at it, the colours in my head are never in the stores...I need an interior decorator;

I’m the Captain of a team made up of four women for a race on Sunday – based on the TV Show (one of my favs!) the Amazing Race. I’ve been a horrible Captain, I haven’t had the time or care to put effort into it, and I’ve barely fundraised. However, it is going to be soo fun and I’m sure we will still have such a great time. We did it a couple years ago together and had a ball – and even won the award for having the best Team Spirit. A race around the City for 5 hours…..sure gonna be sore come Monday ;)

Some favourite tunes on my Ipod right now: Carolyna – Melanie C; Bleeding Love – Leona Lewis; Take a Bow – Rihanna; and Never Too Late – Hedley.

Favourite line in a song right now - ballad – “You look so dumb right now…standing outside my house, trying to apologize, your so ugly when you cry – Pleease!”

Just me or are there a lot of people getting married because they are pregnant? Not something you expect in this day and age….and surprising, if this is the reason;

Camping last weekend was GREAT, so nice to be able to leisurely take our time leaving the City and arrive to our destination. We had nice weather (until after our hiking on Saturday), enjoyed friends, some drinks, yummy food on the bbq and at a local takeout window, the BEST sticky buns in the world were had – even some molasses cookies and tartlets. Our new tent was spacious and perfect for three, the air mattress was comfy – the kid did great, he’s such a great traveller! It was a nice getaway! We’ll just skip the part about the rain that began falling at 2p.m. on Saturday and stopped about 4 a.m. on Sunday morning…the mittens that were purchased and every the fact that every stitch of clothing that was brought was being worn….still loved it and had a great time…AND I enjoyed the BEST steak and BEST corn on the cob of my life in the downpour at around 10:00p.m. Saturday night – Good times were had!

I’ve recently stopped reading a blog, because - this individual is so incredibly short sighted, it was shocking! To read a blog post that made fun of a minority group..shocking, and sad. Really this blog was not that interesting anyways, but I will not return out of principle, shock and horror that she is that short sighted, and that others joined in on the short sightedness by commenting in unison, like drones - disappointing;

Karma is a bitch and I LOVE when Karma bites a bitch in the ass.
I was going to write about this incident in detail, but the moment passed a couple weeks ago – so it’s now mute. But Karma took four days to arrive and bite, but when it did, I glowed and was elated for hours! :)

I’m sorry but becoming a Vegan for a few weeks cannot possibly be THAT difficult when you have a million dollar chef doing your shopping, meal planning and meal preparation ?? ....come on Oprah..

Back aboard

Things have been ridiculous at work for the last three weeks, and next week doesn’t look like it’s going to get any easier, talk about going from 0-1000 overnight. It’s great to be busy though, time flies – it’s just that I’m exhausted BUT this weekend I have a four day long weekend, and we are going camping! I can’t wait, it will be our first camping trip of the season – we are headed here! It is an amazing park, it’s right on the Bay in a very small community with tons of hiking trails of all strengths of difficulty, there are all kinds of beaches, lighthouses, waterfalls and the BEST sticky buns ever! :)
We even got a new tent, and air mattress – since last summer our tent leaked…and this was not so pleasant on a freezing cold Canada Day evening..ugh. Needless to say I’m packing all sorts of blankets – the more the merrier – and lots o’ wine, wine keeps the heart warm anyday!

So I thought for sure if I didn’t blog this week, the blog would be dead, I just haven’t had the time or motivation to put into it what I’d like to, but I’ve thought of all kinds of post ideas...that just never happened. Here is one of them...a beef..if you will:

Smokers (this is meant for more of the chronic smoker type)
I soooo don’t get why people smoke nowadays, I just can’t understand why you would want to put your body and health in that kind of turmoil and jeopardy...or other people’s health for that matter. Your family, friends, neighbours..babies...PETS lives should be more important, being healthy, no having skin the colour of ash, not smelling so horribly, weighing 60 pounds less than you probably should, not being able to breath properly, and coughing up flem should be enough to make you stop I would think....but alas, it doesn't.
Ugh. I know, I know it’s an addiction and I do understand this, and that it is very difficult to change especially when you’ve done something most of your life, and addictions are very difficult to overcome, I realize this and see it everyday in my line of work. And, for some, I personally think that smoking is a security blanket as well and giving that security up would be incredibly difficult. I know...
BUT, when I’m coming to visit for a couple days...and yes you are my elder, it is your house, but I would still hope that you would have respect for me, my health, my body, and my soul...to not smoke inside the house with the doors closed. Because, having to wash everything I own, having to open your house windows to air it out, having to go outside in the cold air just to get a breather, driving to the store for Advil because man I have the worst headache, and who knew it was going to last for three days afterwards..is unacceptable. I felt ashen like the life had been sucked out of me, and it took me days to re-cooperate.
I don’t know, I guess I’m just more health conscious and happy to live a healthy lifestyle..more than I realized, more than others know in their own lives...shocking for me to see people still live this way past the year 2000. It’s probably generational a bit as well I guess, and I guess I just don't have any friends or family that have smoked like that since my grandmother and she passed away 18 years ago.
It is sad, not just gross and so unhealthy but sad to think that people live like this and it is their norm...they are potentially killing themselves and their loved ones...I like my fresh air.

Sorry, I guess that was more of a rant than a beef, lol – and I do have another topic, but guess I will save it for another day! Hint:…..Karma’s a bitch baby!

Fridge reveal

So, I've been slacking at the blogging lately. Things have been hectic and stressful, and overwhelming it seems. And I just haven't had the time, or desire to get on the computer.
But, I did come across a cute post idea over at Through My Lens - Friday Fridge Reveal, which I missed, because it is Saturday. But, it was an interesting idea for a post, and got me back into the 'posting' mode.
So, here is our freezer....do do do do...do.

Nothing too exciting, some Salmon Pate that someone gave A, as a thank you at work, pizza's, bacardi mix for daquaris, meatballs, steak, pork chops, red hot dogs, broccoli in cheese sauce, and english muffins to go with the Eggs Benedict I made this a.m. (which btw - I am the best at making now...the BEST) ;)
