Randomsssssss
Soooooo stoked, we just booked a cottage on Prince Edward Island in August – a week at the beach will be so incredible! And so well needed…..cannot wait! Red dirt, landscapes of green and blue, COWS Ice Cream, the Ocean, horse races…and more and more and more. weeeeeeeeeee
Drinking my first Peppermint Tea in MONTHS, didn’t have acid reflux afterall – it was inflammation in my chest – Cheers to tea!
The kid had his first encounter with a wild turtle a couple days ago, he freaked needless to say, it was hilarious and cute….pretty much the same reaction as he had with lobster. He couldn’t quite understand them but got down close to it until it moved and then rolled away, jumped away, barked, pounced and came back again and again for more.
Work is still ridiculous busy, you get a moment to breath and relax and then it starts up again, fast and furious
Summer is here!!!!
Our hole for the new house is dug!!!!
We’ve been taking the kid swimming a lot because it’s too hot lately to take him for long walks or hikes. He’s a great swimmer and I don’t know if he is trying to rescue you when you’re in the water with him or if he just wants to climb on you and cuddle but whatever the case may be – he’s a terrific swimmer and a natural retriever!!
Long weekend is approaching – HAPPY EARLY CANADA DAY!! we have a couple day trips planned – one to check out the Fundy Trail, and to eat some delicious seafood chowder, and we are having some friends in for BBQ and Cranium, will be great – with time for relaxing!
Last weekend we attended an event for dogs –Bark in the Park and it raised money for the SPCA. It was basically a day honouring your pets. There were flyball demonstrations, obedience demonstrations, puppies for sale, food, flavoured ‘meat’ water, treats, toys, dog washers etc. all there for you and your pet to enjoy. There was also a group walk, but we didn’t end up partaking because it was just too hot out that day and the kid can only be out in the heat for so long where he’s so dark the heat just soaks into the poor little guy. We really enjoyed ourselves there though, and will attend next year for sure. It’s a great cause and so nice to see so many caring pet owners out and about with their pups of all shapes and sizes.
I went to the horse races last night with a friend, it was only the second race of the season. It was great, beautiful weather and I’ve always loved going, it’s something different to do and since my dad owns horses now I know a bit more about the sport and really enjoy betting and reading up on the horses and paying attention to the drivers etc. There are 12 races scheduled for Canada Day – should be a packed stadium – hope the weather cooperates.

SPC - {Nude} week 1

This month's theme over at SPC is Nude. I was tripod-less this week, and found my pictures to be a bit drab - institutional looking or too provocative. But I played around in photoshop with this one and came up with this picture, I like it! Can't wait to see what other SPC'ers came up with. :)

Hard now - Soft later
This weekend my sister and nephews were down for a visit. It was really nice to see them and to spend time with them.
CW is on the verge of turning the big 10! and my oh my he is getting so big...he had a cold and I was sad to think, is your voice changing..? He's been trying out some new hairdos this past year as well, getting hipper and hipper...first it was the long hair and now it's short, but edgier than the normal kid-do, it has more shape to it, more style and ...edgier. He's all about skateboarder clothes, skulls, cool shoes, studded belts...he's a hip kid! :) Way Way cooler than I ever was and sooo smart, and kind - he's cool! We spent Friday night playing Guitar Hero and NHL 2007 on the playstation, where A and I could barely do the Easy levels on Guitar Hero, CW had the Expert levels completed with ease, even playing without looking at times!
WK is now 16 months old, walking with ease in his cute little crocks that light up when he walks. :) My sister advised me before they came that he is talking non-stop and saying everything, and of course when they arrived he said nothing...so I had my doubts at first thinking, ok, it's another proud momma moment, you know when they say he's got teeth and he comes for a visit and he's all gums! (with MAYBE the slightest hint of a tooth...) I was thinking it was another time like that! :) But as the weekend went on he was saying all kinds - Hello, Hi, Bye, Truck, I love you, Dada, Momma, Bubba, Shoes, No, Hot, Shut, Uh Oh, Do do and he was singing often too! :) He's a lot of fun, and understands everything. He's into bikes, and wants to play video games like his older brother, and wants to sit in the car and pretend to drive it, and likes to climb onto everything, wants to use the lawnmower etc, a true little boy. Such a little sweetheart.
We had a great time shopping - and found a few good deals across the lines. I got some cute dressy everday sandals, an NHL sweatshirt for A, couple of tshirts, and a sweater all for approximately $28.00 - can't beat it!
Today we had an amazing breakfast at a local hotel including waffles with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, fresh fruit, eggs benedict, BACON gallore, cheesecake, french toast, hashbrowns, sausage...can't even remember what else, but it was delicious and i'm not sure i'll eat anything else today! Mmm.... :)
A Shout out to KK - a faithful reader! :)
AND, a big Happy Birthday to T - who turned 3 today ! Hope you had a fun party yesterday, and can't wait to hear all about it! :)

F...I...E...R...C...E

Last Sunday we had our race - Adventure in Motion which encompassed about 30 (perhaps a few more) teams of 4 members and which raised $25,000 for the Special Olympics and Partners in Youth! Amazing. Thank goodness our team - Fun Fab Fierce Four, had the Queen of fundraising on it - LM, who brought our total funds raised to $1890.00 !! :) We even won 1st prize for top fundraising and received $50 car rental, a night in a local hotel and four free weeks at a really nice gym!
We had a super time and were all definitely a bit sore for a few days afterwards. Running around the City for 4 hours tends to do that to you. It was a great turn out and is getting bigger and better each year. We weren't sure what place we came in, but we know we did well and got to may stations and challenges - everytime we came to a new one they exclaimed "Wow, you've completed a lot of challenges." So i'm thinking we must have come in the top 10 out of 30 - possibly even better than that.
In order to complete a challenge we had to solve the clue and know where in the City we had to be, and we successfully solved each clue except one held us up and we ran out of our way to two seperate spots before we found the sundial that was the answer...but it was all good, we were really quite fast! Some different challenges that we had to perform were: Answer trivia questions about the Special Olympics; name each Canadian flag; carry a canoe across the walking bridge downtown (we vetoed this one...don't think so babe), catch jello in your mouth from 20 feet above you, ask random people on the street to take your picture and donate money to special olympics, pilates pose for 2 mins, name that tune, golf, water balloon, 4 person potato sack race (sooo tough on the abs), parallel parking blindfolded, puzzles puzzles and more puzzles, cartwheels and singing, large sudoku puzzle etc.
There were some pretty creative costumes too - a group of women in wedding dresses called the Runaway Bridges (they must have died of heat....ugh), and a couple teams of superheros (picture men in black tights with yellow panties over top of them complete with orange duct tape around their waiste holding up the panties and a lightening bolt of yellow paper on their chests...LOL - hot!)
By the end of the race we were starved and due for some beverages! It was a really great day and nice to spend time with friends doing something different!
